The jury will award the following prizes in each category:

  • 1st Prize – to all participants who score between 95 and 100 points
  • 2nd Prize – to all participants who score between 90 and 94.99 points
  • 3rd Prize – to all participants who score between 85 and 89.99 points

All participants who score below 85 points will receive certificates of participation.

The jury may also award several special prizes. The jury may, for example, award a prize for the best performance of a particular composer, whose birth or death is being commemorated in the year of the competition. (The year of the first Matusja Blum Memorial Competition is also the 170th anniversary of the death of Frederic Chopin and the 220th anniversary of Joseph Haydn’s death.)

The jury selects two laureates, one in the younger category and one in the older category.
The younger laureate is the overall winner, in the event that both competitors have an equal number of points.

Winners (laureates) of categories A to G are awarded cash prizes in the following amounts:

Category A – €50   Category E – €150
Category B – €80   Category F – €200
Category C – €100 Category G – €250
Category D – €120

  • A special prize to the most successful teacher may be awarded by the jury at its discretion.
  • Decisions made by the jury are final and may not be appealed.
  • In case of doubt, the Bosnian version of the Competition Rules shall have precedence.
